Cruz Is One

by Adrienne Jopp

When I started to think about how I wanted to celebrate my son's big day this past October I thought it would be cool to do a book themed party.  I love to read and it is very important to me to fill our home with books and to encourage my children to read.  At the same time I was inspired (read obsessed) with the Rifle Paper Co. " You Are A Fox" card  so when "The Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl came to mind I knew immediately that it would be the theme for the party.

As the book centers around a fall feast, I wanted the party to be a feast where all of our friends and family could gather around one big table for a meal and to celebrate what truly matters the most: family.

While the party didn't come off exactly as I imagined, all of our guests enjoyed themselves and it made the day perfect!

Beautiful Birth Announcement

by Adrienne Jopp

On November 6th, 2013 a beautiful princess made her debut in the world and made my best friend Cheri and her hubby Derek, a Mommy and Daddy for the first time!

For her shower gift I had given Cheri custom designed birth announcements and couldn't wait to start creating them when their bundle of joy arrived oh so fashionably late one day after her due date.

Inspired by her Queen-like middle name: Victoria (an homage to her parents hometown) I designed this regal and vintage black and white birth announcement with a touch of girlish pink to finish it off.  I can't wait to meet this sweet baby girl when they come to visit next month and to spoil her rotten in the years to come!

Happy 2014!

by Adrienne Jopp

It has been ages since I last blogged and by ages I mean almost a full year.  2013 went by so fast that it is officially over and a new one has begun!  With a demanding full time job, a baby and a husband, not to mention my wonderful family and friends, there seems little time to do much of anything else let alone create gorgeous stationery for the world to see.  While I am working on reprioritizing my goals ( i.e. a little less red wine and maybe few more hours in the gym) and putting more focus on doing the things that I love, I plan to be here a little more often showcasing my latest creations and adventures.

For Christmas, my wonderful hubby gave me a new DSLR camera and this year I plan to learn how to use it and to use it well.  There are most likely going to be some pretty bad photos posted here over the course of the next few months, but I hope that they will evolve into good photos and maybe even incredible photos as the year goes on.

Below are some shots of the Thank-You notes I created for my son's first birthday.  I had wanted to create a little package and bundle them with our Christmas cards like I did with his birth announcements the previous year, but I ran into a few production issues and then I just plain ran out of time .

After an unsuccessful attempt a full redesign, I took a deep breath and let it go.  Sometimes you just can't do it all and that is okay!   In the end I got an amazing deal on some gorgeous Happy New Year cards from my favorite stationery company Rifle Paper Co. that made my little bundle complete. Sometimes you just need a little help from the people you idolize.

Love and Inspiration

by Adrienne Jopp

Whenever I get inspired by something, my mind gets really excited and quite often I end up finding myself overwhelmed with possibility!  It is an incredible high and one that I relish each time I am motivated to take on a new project.

With Valentine's day just around the corner, and after reading The Happiness Project, I decided that I wanted to send out Valentine's Day cards with an update of what my little family had been up to over the past 12 months, much like people do at Christmas time, but during a less hectic time of year.

Ironically, I sat down over the Christmas holidays to start working on this little project, in order to give myself plenty of time, and ended up creating an entire invitation suite! At the same time I met a girlfriend for brunch at this funky little cafe that I knew would be an amazing location for a photo shoot and the wheels started turning!

Before I knew it, I had put together an inspiration board for a styled photo shoot and had recruited some of the best people I know in the wedding industry in Victoria to work with me on this project.

As we are gearing up for this amazing shoot next week I thought I would share my inspiration and give a HUGE thank-you in advance to all the amazing and talented people who have jumped on board to turn this vision into a reality!
